I've had my new Longhorn Limited 3 days now and still haven't figured out how to turn the system off. I have always turned everything off in all of my previous vehicles before shutting the engine off. I realize it turns off when you open the door. I have been wondering if that's the only way to turn it off.

Laramie Longhorn 3500 4x4 for one month and my radio will not turn off. I can mute it, but after turning off the vehicle and restarting at a later time the radio comes back on. I called Customer Care and they told me that the radio stays on until the vehicle is shut down and will come on automatically upon restart. What they told me was that I would need to turn the volume down to where I couldn't hear it and when I restarted the vehicle, the system would be on, but I wouldn't hear it until I turned the volume up. What a way to design the system.

I'm sure it doesn't hurt anything working that way. These systems on the later model vehicles have so any computer controlled accessories and I have found at least with my previous truck an F150, it didn't like it sometimes when the audio system was left on when shutting the engine down. It was like most home computers I've used. If an app was left open or some program still running when I turn it off, it did always want to cooperate and sometimes created a glitch when restarted.

Mine does the same... I have to either turn the bluetooth off or hang up the phone
