Default Important Note DeeZee Tailgate Assist

Seems as though DeeZee knows about the problem that the top of the shock rubs the inner part of the tailgate when closing it. Mine actually scratched the paint off after only closing it 2 times.
The new part # for 2013 Rams is: DZ43301, which is due out in "2-4 weeks).
Instead of sending part back for warranty, I solved the problem by installing the top mount fender washer that is about 1/3 the thickness that comes with the kit.

Had that on my 2011 before I traded it. It finally broke the shock. Undecided if I am going to get it again for my new 2013

I have the same binding problem on my truck, so i contacted DeeZee and they told me to take the old one back to where I bought it from and they would replace it under warranty with the new part# but that I should wait for 4-6 weeks before doing so.

I guess I will have to wait till then and find out how much grief I will get from AutoAnything (which is where I bought it) about the warranty replacement.

Just for grins I have included a copy of the email I got from DeeZee.
