Third redesign on the cylinder heads for the pentastar 3.6. 2013 ram has the latest and greatest design, hoping it holds up for my truck. Getting an extended warranty anyways. Not going to worry about it.

Oh oh. Deal is off. The truck I was supposed to take ownership of somehow is not available. Now they're talking 14's. we will see how bad they want to salvage my business. Little pissed how little they're keeping me in the loop.

I've been really happy with my v6... range is excellent compared to my '12 hemi 1500. I use the truck as a daily driver to/from work. I am averaging about 950km/110L fill (I'd only get around 700km with the hemi on the same run). We took it to Victoria this summer for its break-in journey and we were able to get almost 1050km/tank which impressed as that was all in the mountains. The only thing we have towed so far was Jetta on a car hauler around town and had no issues with it. I want to do a flatter highway run with it at some point to see what range we get there, the closest I've got to it is Edmonton -> Calgary and only using 1/4 tank and for that we had a headwind most of the way south.

I am happy with the gas mileage 3.6L V-8 ST Model. On the highway I am averaging 11l/100km and in town 13l/100km. The ride is a bit stiff and has some serious roll in the cab when turning corners. The back seat heat and ac are awful though. To get any kind of air to blow in the back seat you need to close all the front vents and put it on 3 or 4 setting. Mine runs really hot though when I get it into the 4k or 5k rpm mark my temp gauge shoots up to 3/4 and then comes down to a shade under half when it smooths out at 1500 rpm.

I did end up buying one. I really like it. In fact I like it more every time I drive it, whenever my wife allows.
As for the ac in the back, both my cc trucks are fine in that way, make sure your floor vents are not blocked

So far, so good with mine... I commute (approx. 500 km weekly) and average 10.5l/100, which is pretty decent. Towing the trailer or toy (pwc) has little to no impact on gas consumption, depending on weather and road conditions. I added the pneumatic suspension and my wife LOVES it! Pretty comfy and smooth. The V6/8 speed combo is an excellent match. My only beef would be the lack of torque and power from the get-go but this is something that can easily be remediated to with aftermarket mods

I like mine. I was on the border between ordering a 2014 or getting one off the lot. I ended up finding pretty much what I wanted sans a few features being added now (i.e. bed lining, parkview camera, nerf bars and bed cover).

As far as gas mileage, I average between 22-23mpg in mixed but mostly highway miles at or around 60.

Just a little note here, a friend of mine worked at CTC on the design of this motor. At first it was supposed to be a "direct-injection" motor. But due to costs, and the meltdown of the industry, it was released as a MPFI. So DI may still be in the future for these.
