I would be more interested in a place to mount my Tekonsha P3. Would love if they could move the disk all the way to right and give me a couple screw holes for the mount for the brake controller. the brake mount point would need to be raised though because the 2010 ram dash is pretty tall behind that tray. I think this is an awesome idea.

Good Idea about moving the disk mounting location. BGM should be able to offer all three options, left, center or right side location for the disk mount.
Better get those 'Patent Pending Papers' modified :-)

Default Good Mount. Too Bad About Patent Application

Nice mount, provides a solid universal disk in the right place, with little sacrifice, and no drilling. I'd recommend people who buy your mount work with a phone holder like this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Arkon-Mount-Bu...keywords=arkon

But you said that took you 1.5 years to develop, and that a patent app was filed. You lost me there, sorry. First, did that really take 1.5 years? What you've got is a flat piece of metal with two screw holes, and a disk. Was the extra time part of going to mass production or something? And while a neat product, that is not an "invention". It's the kind of obvious thing that I whip outta my shop in one night, all on my own. And I'm not even all that skilled. That means it's rather obvious to someone "skilled in the art", and not patent worthy, IMHO. What is it about it that is so unique and novel? Am I missing something? That said, they'll probably give you one, because that's how the Patent Office gets their money.

Don't get me wrong. I like the product, and I'd much rather pay $24 than have to muck around the shop all night making an uglier version of same. I just don't agree with government-endorsed monopolies on the obvious. I wish the law of the land required companies to attack the market by building great products and competing well, not by locking out competitors.

I understand you're just playing by the rules of the game, as they are. I don't hate the player, just the game.

It seems to me that this item is not actually a "mount", as described, but more a "mounting platform". They provide a smooth steel disk, painted the same color as your dash, fastened securely with original equip screws, that is just at or slightly above level with the rest of your dash, to which YOU may mount a suitable "device mount". That may be a suction cup friction mount sold at so many gas stations, or a specific mount that comes with your device, etc.

Please correct me if I am seeing this wrong.

I think it may be a good choice for many that would rather have the "OEM" look of color matched steel to attach their device mount to, and I am glad to discover there are two screws holding that plate down... I also considered mounting a "multi guage" in that spot, but now I believe I will mill down a piece of "Corian" to fill that space and make a custom phone mount.

a "mounting platform" is still a mount. the word mount means to attach. you attach it to the truck. then you attach another mount to it. that doesn't change that this is a mount.

Really??? Your correcting ME for suggesting this item is mounting platform?
That is all you have to say about this?
I am incorrectly describing the item?
If you quote me, please quote me completely.
I ASKED for the OP to correct my impression of the item.

Other poster were confused as to HOW they mounted their iPhones to this "mount mount"...

"The mounts look ok, just don't know how my iPhone mounts to a round disk."

"So the mount is a separate purchase?

Huh?"

"Dodge Ram Truck GPS/iPhone Mounts Bayou Goat Mounts has designed the only GPS/iPhone mounts made specifically for the 2009-2014 model Ram Trucks. Our mounts are easy to install using factory screws already on your Ram Truck dash. This is the answer to mounting a GPS or iPhone in your Ram Truck! Check out our sleek looking low-profile mounts at www.bayougoatmounts.com"

This "mount mount" is NOT a phone mount at all.
It IS a mounting platform.
You should correct Bayou Goat Mounts for THEIR semantics error, as that IS what it is at best.
False advertising at worst.

If you pay $25.00 for this "iPhone mount", install it with "factory screws already on your Ram truck dash" place your $500.00+ iPhone on top, then lose your $500.00+ iPhone out the window at your first left turn, you will be VERY disappointed.

I was trying to participate, and be helpful. You are correcting me incorrectly for no apparent reason. I am sorry to have had this conversation. I was invited to this thread. I will not accept any further invitations.

Good day.

Welcome to the forum and thank you for inventing this mount. I plan on buying one as I have a dash cam and this will work great for mounting it.

Ordered this mount and it came in yesterday. Installation is simple, looks great and works like a charm. Had a long conversation with the owner of the co. last week when I ordered it. Nice guy and the mount was everything he said it was. thanks.
