Just had my 90k service done at the dealer. After new brakes, service and a 1500 dollar bill my AC quit working. I never made it off the lot and had them look at it as it was working when I brought in. Could the dealership of caused it to leak out all its freon ? Said it is leaking around the firewall, could this have been hit while changing coil packs? They are also telling me that r 134 freon is corrosive. Need help
As far as I know they cant tell where its leaking without a dye test. Im no acexpert but my 11 seemeed like it wasnt blowing very cool so I added another can of freon and it quit blowing cold at all. Turns out it had too much to begin with. I let some out and it started blowing cold as ice. The moral to this story is that they have a sensor on them that shuts the compressor off if the system is charged with too much freon to prevent compressor damage. I would have someone put a guage on it. My local auto parts store did that for free. Good luck!
Found these recalls before buying my 09 Ram 1500 TRX4 a couple of months ago may not help but I remember there being one for the air conditioners on 09 models. Like I said maybe completely unrelated but still good info to pass on to other 09 owners
