Nice story, Drew. Thanks for sharing. She's gonna be one popular girl when she's burning up the streets in that thing. Got your shotgun and your shovel ready?

Great story. I love reading Drew's post/stories. I had an 87 LX wasn't a 5.0 I would have killed myself with that. Best car I have had ran forever. I was rear ended got and then 5 days later side swiped and rolled it. Got it all fixed and good as new.

I've been going to the flea markets/auctions in the area and picking up a few things. I'm decorating the inside of my shed with old shovels, hatchets, hack saws, and a few pick-axes. Even found (not really) an old pair of manacles and a ball and chain, an iron maiden and a few extras:

I figure her potential dates can hang out there with me and chat while she's getting ready. Know of any place where I can find some old rusty dental tools?

Thanks Shawn. The day after I got the car (2001) my (now) ex-wife pulled out of the driveway and got rear-ended my Mrs. Clause. But it was only enough to set off the inertia switch and no real damage.

I'm thinking she'll like the Fisher Price one better, and it's probably worth more money. I had a '92 with 2.3. There was nothing fun about that car. I wouldn't consider it an "investment"....maybe if it were a notchback 5.0 with 10K miles, but not a 2.3. You're not going to let her drive until she's 27?

No, when she's 20. With the fuel prices I don't know that she'll be able to afford fuel in another 13 years.

How much is a new car going to cost in another 13 years as opposed to having everything in perfect condition in 13 years. Granted a '67 Dodge Dart with a 318 or 340 is more desirable, but would you turn one down for free because it had a slant 6?

Free is always good, but keeping it running and rust proof for the next 13 years could be a challenge. It will need new tires, battery, hoses, many items by then. Buying those items in 13 years will cost more than the car will be worth.

All of that's been done and it's usually stored inside. Which was where I went wrong this summer.
