That seems like a lot of damage for hitting a wall. Unless it was a black wall and he hit it at 50mph.

He probably got f'ed up with the knew rotary knob 8 speed. I am scared with the upcoming transition from my '11 to a '14 that I will not be thinking and do the same thing. It just feels so unnatural.

Agreed. I'm thinking this was no ordinary parking mistake kind of accident.

Perhaps there was a Steel table against the wall and he ran into it. That MIGhT help explain the level of damage.

Don't worry too much. It gets natural really quickly. Flick all the way left for park, flick all the way right to drive.

Drove dad's 2008 2500 today while he took my 2014 to the garage... almost put his in 4 wheel drive (knob) when I pulled into work.

WOW.....If the truck looks like that I am wondering what the garage looks like.....Also was this garage attached to the home....If so how much damage to the house....Main thing is that they are ok...Vehicles can be replaced.....

He should have waxed the truck first to give it garage door protection.

He probably was distracted either by being on the phone texting or with all the fancy lights in the dash and accidentally hit the gas rather than the brake.
