I have to say, I can't agree with your statements, either, particularly since there is overwhelming evidence to the contrary, not only that but it can be said of Mopar owners more than any other, that we are the most loyal to our brand, why do you think that is? Would we keep buying vehicles if they left us stranded on the road all the time? As has been mentioned by others on here, every manufacturer experiences problems. 146K on the clock doesn't sound like a disposable vehicle to me. This is my third Mopar vehicle, and I refuse to buy anything else, because I know my truck is going to work just as hard as I do.

BTW, to the credit of Chrysler Financial, they worked plenty well with me when I lost my job for the second time this year, they were helpful, understanding and willing to negotiate my payment as I needed for them to, just to keep me rolling.

Loved my old Ram, my Jeep and my new Ram!

where i park it is of no concern, and should not be.
i have a 93 geo tracker, been in the desert since day 1,not even
scuffed-no cracks, hmmmmmm wonder why.
so from what you say,i should wrap the ram 1500 in a cocoon,
never drive it on a rough bumpy road, so the junk dash doesnt
ever have to be under any stress, come on man get real.
i like the ram because of the way it looks, like all the other unhappy
buyers,,if i had known how cheaply made the interior was,i would have not bought it,furthermore,to get any kind of money for it
if i sell it,i would have to replace the junk dash.which i wont do.
sooooooo anyone dumb enough, even chrysler, that defends this
junk,is just plain naive.

besides this was an open letter to CHRYSLER CORP,who i might add is strangely quiet
So it sounds like your one and only real issue is that your dash in a 14yr old truck is going to crap. Even if it was replaced 3.5yrs ago, it was the same materials used originally and has simply sat in a warehouse since the last part was poured.

Yes, that generation had issues with the dash... no, the air bags won't fall out, as they're seated in a well for that very reason. If you don't want to buy the 'crysler crap' dash, then buy one made by SEVERAL aftermarket manufacturers that use different materials that are less prone to cracking. My father's old '98 2500 had a bad dash, I fixed him up with an aftermarked dash and when he traded it in for his '08 3500 cummins, you'd have never known.

And you won't find Chrysler on here, sry, not a supported forum. This isn't a 'bitching about mopar' forum, it's a help forum for people who are looking for help and advice on their Rams. So if you had a question you want answered, then we're more than happy to try and find a solution for you. As I said above, try looking at an aftermarket dash.

Well, Grandpaclint. So are you going to keep the truck? Did you expect it to remain flawless after 14 yrs/146K miles?

I've pushed quite a few trucks past that kind of mileage and they all had their problems. Bitchin' about them never fixes them.

Having a bad day? Well, write them a letter. I'm sure when they see you have a 14 year old truck with 146,000 miles on it they'll jump right on the problem.

Amazing how immature some of you guys are. Callin' eachother names and stuff all cause he is unhappy with his truck. Seriously GROW UP!

As for who started the thread, I for the past month have had nothing but problems. I came to the point where I couldn't even drive it due to how unreliable it was. Shit can be fixed, you just need patience and the willingness to fix it/get it fixed. If you decide to get another vehicle, then by all means do so, nobody will stop you or think of you differently.

With 140k miles and running solid, thats good! Im at 117k and it just had a phase of problems, but now .. I believe I fixed them.

Yeah, it sounds like once you fix your dash you'll have a solid truck with a good engine. The good thing about this forum is that if you have a problem or complaint, than you can come on here and get help getting them resolved. But if you come on here with a minor problem (like a crappy dash) and blow up saying chysler needs to shut their doors over a cracked dash, than you arne't going to get much help.
