Default AC

I just learned something new today and some on here may already know but I will pass this on. I am not sure if this is the right place for it, but move it if needed. Today When I went to work everything was working good. AC was nice and cold. When I got off of work and turned the truck on the blower motor would not turn on. I looked under the hood for a fuse or relay. Did not find anything. So I called the place where I bought the truck from and the mechanic told me to turn the ac on high and then smack the blower motor. I did it and the blower turned on. He told me when the brushes inside wear out they get stuck and sometimes the blower won't turn on. So he ordered me a new blower and is sending it out to me since I am not able to get out there to get the job done. They are taking care of this at no cost to me. I just need to do the swap and he told me it was just 3 screws. I told him I think I will be able to manage

Thanks for the info. And yes, changing the blower motors out on our 3rd gen trucks is super duper easy.

Sounds like some pretty good customer service from the place where you bought your truck.

If I'd known it was that easy, it wouldn't have taken me 45 minutes to troubleshoot a friend of mine's truck about 6 months ago. I had my meter out, I was check voltage and continuity to ground on pretty much everything that I could think of before I was fairly certain that it was his blower motor.

Update:

I recieved the new blower motor today. I just finished swapping it out and now it seems to be working even better than when I first got the truck. It is blowing a lot harder now.
