So I didn't think the 2013 1500's had TPMS? I looked through all my menu's and didn't see anything about TPMS?

DOH! RTFM! I've been doing a little research on snow tires & rims for my truck, and the Discount Tire web site said the TPMS was only on the 2500's! I thought I had dug through all the menu's, but I was wrong! Thanks for the lesson!

With that said, if I get a new set of tires/rims with sensors, will the truck automagically recognize them? Or will the dealer have to reprogram them every spring/fall?

On my wife's car, it was going to take a trip to the dealer to change twice a year, so I just put a piece of electrical tape over the light in the winter, problem solved!

Thanks!
Mike

I did some research on this as I am waiting for my second set.

What I read was all you need to do is drive for about half an hour with the new sensors as long as you don't have the old tires on board and the truck will sync with the new ones.

Sounds awesome. We will see what happens.

Update

Winter wheels, tires and eBay TPMS arrived and installed.

Worked perfectly.

The New TPMS sensors were working before I got out of my back alley.
Couldn't have been easier. I'm impressed.

I'm having a hard time picking a wheel! What did you get and what size? Do you have any pictures?

Thanks!

Just spoke with my dealer's service dept.. they told me the 2013 trucks have a "winter mode" in the TPMS system that allows the warning light to appear for a day when the central unit doesn't sense the presence of any sensors, then after that the light goes out and stays out.

If that's actually the case, then life is definitely good!

I went with Mayhem Missile 8060 wheels. 18x9 +18 offset and Goodyear Duratracs 275/70R18. This setup is nearly the same size as the stock 20"s.

I do have a few picks. They look great in person. Should get me though the snow no problem.

Ok, got my winter tires and Ebay sensors installed on the week end and everything is working fine .... the truck recognized the sensors after a couple of miles .... no configuration was necessary ...
