Keep in mind that the weights quoted are for the base Laramie without options. Add 500 for the trailer tongue weight, 150 for the RamBox, some other options (such as the towing package) and passengers--already you are at or above the payload rating. Not that it is unsafe--the numbers are probably conservative--but the ratings do not encourage you to carry that much.

The 2014 Sierra Denali half ton is rated to tow 12K pounds. The payload capacity of my 2007 is close to 2000 pounds.

But I would prefer a Ram with Rambox, air suspension, etc.
