Default WTF is that Noise?

Got the truck back from the dealer today. Hopefully they got the squeal fixed but now there's a new issue. WTF is this noise coming from the dash?

Trying to do this from my phone so hopefully this works.

Could be a solenoid in the heater box area under the dash.

That's not coming from a speaker, is it? It's from the dash? Man, that's horrendous! Is it constant?

So far it has been pretty constant for a couple minutes after starting it. After that it usually goes away. I can hear some from the speakers but it definitely sounds like it's coming from the dash. Turning the radio on or off doesn't seem to affect it. It'll also keep doing it if I turn the truck off. The solonoid could work because the vents quit working at the same time, all the air comes out at the floor, but turning the HVAC on or off doesn't seem to affect it either.

I think the louver/door that changes the airflow from floor/dash/defrost, or the one that selects outside air/recirulate is jammed and gear is slipping. Does it make a difference what setting these are at?

It's hard to say. I can turn it from outside to recirc or from vent to floor and it doesn't stop but it could just be one of those things that's immediate. Is that something that would cycle when you first start it even if the heat/air is turned off?

Yup, most likely the blend door motor for the AC is stripped. Same sound mine had.

Don't hear about it to often any more, but motors still can go bad.

Just check to see when you change positions, defrost, vents etc, that the air flow comes from the position selected. If it is stuck on the floor it is the blend door motor.

Back to the dealer unfortunately.

Sounds like you picked up woody wood pecker and he's hiding in your dash.

But ya all jokes being said it does sound like your blend door motor, I would be seeing my dealer about it for sure.

If you feel adventurous, you can always do the work your self.

I should have provided this link in my other post.
