Default Heater fan turns on after truck is shut off

I have a 2007 Dodge Ram Diesel 5.9, Automatic, 4x4, 2500.

Within 5-10 minutes of shutting it off, and taking the keys completely out my heater fan will turn on and blow air. I can control the fan speed with the knob. It will turn on/off every 5-10 minutes on its own. I think this has been what's been draining my batteries lately.

Any ideas on what could cause this?
Thanks
Jeff

I got a few ideas, but that's just weird. You may have a computer glitch. There could be a wire that's getting 12v from another hot wire, but that's reaching. Possible, although it's gonna take some troubleshooting prowess to find it. That's one of those gremlins that will have you chasing your tail for days. I would say just remember to turn the fan to off when you get out until you find the demon.

HI JEFF : MY 2012 DOES THE SAME THING . IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN , IT'S SUPPOSE TO DO THIS TO DRY THE AIR CONDITIONER EVAPORATOR OF MOISTURE , TO PREVENT MILDEW FROM FORMING , CAUSING A MUSTY SMELL WHENEVER THE HEATER , OR AIR CONDITIONER IS FIRST TURNED ON . HOPE THIS HELPS .
