wow that's amazing, they look better then any factory kit I've seen!

So I guess if i want a factory system all i need to do is order the sensors, drill the holes, plug into the factory harness that's already there, install the factory on off button on the dash and have the computer flashed.

i'm going to look into this and let everyone know how i made out.
I like my reverse warnings but holy cow I need front sensors or a camera. It is impossible to know where you are when pulling into a parking spot!
First time poster, longtime lurker.

I thought it was just me. I finally decided to get a "real" truck and I have no idea how far am I pulling into a parking spot. Luckily for me, we have to back into parking spots.

Did you install a front view camera? If so how did it go?

Default Avoid aftermarket Mopar sensors

When I bought my Ram, I needed something as a park assist.
Sales manager and Parts manager both told me that they can add both rear view park sensors as well as a camera after purchase. stupid me for trusting them, and not researching all of this.

Reason they can't install a camera was I have an automatic locking tailgate when I lock the truck and the locking mechanism is in the same spot as the camera goes in the handle.

Next best option was the sensors, now I was told they will look and be integrated into the truck just like it came from factory. What i got was a different story.

It would be one thing if they look ugly and worked, but they don't ever work close to what they should. I could be in a completely empty parking lot, with the sensors very clean and it will beep saying im inches away from something to a few feet away, totally random.

Horrible system. Buyer beware!!

My dealer installed the camera before I took delivery. They replace the entire tailgate handle assembly with one that has a camera.

OK so I've been trying to figure out how to get back up sensors into my 2013 Laramie, every truck I've owned since 2006 have had them and man you don't know how much you miss something until it's gone. I was seriously thinking about the surface mounted system from mopar but i didn't like the idea of adding something to the bumpers and not having it run through the factory system. plus it was going to cost me over $700.00 to get it installed.

OK so i found the factory wiring harness and empty plug for the sensors at the back of my truck so i figured it must be possible to add them. i had two options, drill four holes through my brand new bumper and buy the factory sensors and flash the truck to program them or buy a new bumper and sensors.... ok going with the new bumper idea would have cost me close to $1500.00 just for the parts plus another $100.00 to program and add the factory software. Crazy money....

I decided to try an auto wrecker to see if they had any 09 and up bumper with sensors. I got lucky, the local guy had the bumper i needed and it was a complete system with sensors, hitch, pads, everything for $800.00 and better yet it came off a low mileage 2012 that got nailed in the front end. 8 bolts and i take my bumper off and bolt the one with sensors on....real simple. will do that this weekend and on Tuesday i have an appointment to have the s/w loaded and the override switch added. It will be just like factory.

figure once the dust settles i'll sell my original bumper / hitch package for $550.00 and i'll only have a few hundred bucks invested to have a factory system.

i'll let everyone know how it goes when i have a finished product.

ediram,

There may be more than just adding the sensors.

I have the factory sensors in my truck and there is also a switch on the dash center cluster to turn them on and off. There may be some control box behind the dash also. IDK.

You may want to look into this.
