Is it the tail lights (driving/parking) or the brake lights? I can understand the stop light switch on the pedal going bad or somehow unplugged, but I'd need more info on the brake lights. Sounds like a short but I'll need some time to consider where...

I'm having this issue too where either the brake lights or taillights won't go off. I always just turn it on, and back off, but it's annoying!

I did some thinking. It could be you just need a new spring in the pedal or a sensor. That's my guess.
