Keep your present OE CAI, it takes the cold air from the fender, its also very efficient, the engineers try to make them the best they can so they can hit the numbers the Feds want the trucks to get. Just get yourself a good high flow filter and drop it in, If you really want to mod your truck cause you just like doing stuff like that and you want more engine sound, (thats me, I like modding) then go with the one you feel suits you the best. But if your doing this for gains as your title says, your barking up the wrong tree. JMO

I dunno...

I just installed the S&B on my 2013 Ram and it feels there's a little bit more pep, however slight it may be. There is an improvement to be had over the factory intake. The S&B will provide that.

i have the S&B its nice im happy with it but dont expect to be blown away from the power gains if you even notice them. None of us are trying to talk you out of getting an intake either. They are great additions for a first seires of mods. We are just saying the performance gains are just not incredible gains. id imagine with just putting an intake on and nothing else you might get 2-10 hp & .2-3mpg. however paired with other mods like exhaust, headers, throttle body, tuner, custom tune, ect. an intake adds to HP/TQ potential. So in a nutshell it depends on what you want one for. Sound, aesthetics, performance, or just plain ol cause you want one damn it lol.

Power stacked with other mods: my opinion id go S&B
Sound: AFE
Looks: Vararam or S&B
just plain ol cause you want one damn it: K&N

those are just my opinions though i dont have any proof to scientifically back it up.
