Default Can't stand the chrome bumpers

I hate chrome, don't know why, but always have. My truck has the chrome bumpers and I really badly want to get rid of the chrome. Has anyone used line-x or an equivalent bed liner on them? Just want to see how it looks/how hard it is to keep it clean. Or should I just vinyl wrap it black? Don't know what to do and I'm open to options, just want to get rid of the chrome!

You may be able to paint/coat them, but I think the chrome would have to be abraded for maybe a good epoxy primer first. Can't imagine anything sticking to chrome without seriously scratching it up. Friend of mine plastidipped his chrome clad wheels, it's already started to peel.

Yep. Good advice here. You will have to sand the shit out of the bumper before you can spray on bedliner. And if you want to be really meticulous, you should then spray on a self etching primer, let that dry, then an automotive primer, let that dry, then the bedliner. But a lot of guys have either sandblasted or heavily sanded the bumpers and then just sprayed the bedliner on.

I used Rustoleum Bedliner.

First used an oxide based sand paper to scuff the bumpers, then a self etching primer.

Just did two chrome bumpers off a 2014 Silverado last night. DA them down to where they look like beer cans, no shiney chrome at all. Then you need an good epoxy primer, put two good coats on. Then paint two coats of chosen color, then two coast of clear. Bam.
