Default Headlights

I know theirs a lot of dispute and posts about these new projector headlight but as of a lot of you, mine are also fogged up.
I went to the local dealer and he said hes going to order me two new ones.
I have one problem, I have HID bulbs and ballasts put in. To do this with the high beam I had to drill a 1 1/4" hole in the back. It looks professional because it did come with a perfect fitting seal.
Anybody think that they wont replace it once they see that their are holes in the back? I think im going to have a problem...

They may not notice if like you said the seal looks professional. Besides, there isn't really anything you can do about it now if they are going to notice. It seems like they were pretty agreeable when you went there in the first place, so I doubt they're going to tell you that they won't install parts they ordered specifically for you because of it.

I would put the halogen bulbs back in and remove the HID's, I don't know what kit you have, what type of seal was there, but the hole and seal may be the culprit also to your humidity issue in the head lamp, if they see you made a hole, they might just charge you for them and with labor also, If you physically modified the headlamp you are sole responsible for it, if no modifications were done, then it could be factory defect. Not sure how this will pan out but keep us informed.

Makes me think twice now as I'm considering what path I want to go with HID's from RetroShop. Either send the OE's away for the projector install, or purchase a complete new OEM set of headlights from them already modded. Hella expensive with the complete new light option, but then no worries about touching mine.

Well really the hole is in the back cover and not the actual headlight itself.
And my lights were fogging up sense the day I bought it before I put the HIDs in.

I wonder if the back cover can be changed? Does it look removable? I'm doubting we'd ever be able to get our hands on it anyway though if it was.

The condensation thing is a known issue on vehicles with LEDs. Something to do with not enough heat to evaporate it through the moisture barrier when they're running or something like that. My truck only has incandescents and I've had no problems so I haven't looked that far into the LED condensation issue.

My point is though, the dealer likely won't take issue with it if they are aware of it happening on other rams with LEDs.

I get what your saying thunderhorse but I asked the dealer and he said he'd never Hurd of it! I couldn't believe that but that's what he said

I purchased complete dual headlight setup converted to projectors from Retroshop and I do not regret spending the money. The lights are IMO the first upgrade that should be done to the Ram.

I would go to the junk yard and get replacement covers where you drilled the holes. I have quad lights and HID low beam lights (we may have different lights so this my not apply) Also remove the HID kit so everything will be back to stock. JMO.
