Okay so I recently purchased an F350, '93, 5.8. It's a dually rack body.

This thing has a code 327 that I can't get rid of for the life of me. I'm just wondering if anyone has had one of these things and run across this problem. I've searched the web and can't get one single straight answer. There are a lot of "OR's" involved. Low voltage, OR bad egr valve, OR break in the harness, OR... I've been over the wire harness, the EGR position sensor, EGR Solenoid, what a bunch of redundant crap.

I've never seen anything so idiotic. At least here on this form there are members that have legitimate input on what the issue is and how to solve it.

Any help would save what little sanity I was saving for retirement.

Warlock III, I would just replace both the EGR and EVP to rule those out. Another thing we did to a F350 shop truck when a 327 code popped up besides the two above was inspect the IAC on top of the throttle body as well as replace the TB gasket. Good thing we did because it was practically crumbling away. We cleared the code and the 327 ceased to reappear. Good luck bud.

I can't say anything about the truck seeing as I just turned 1 years old when it was made , that and and it's ford leaves me blank.

To help save that little bit of sanity remaining.. Burn it on your crazy neighbours property and accuse him of stealing it and burning it and cash in on the earnings

Well after using half of my retirement squandered brain cells on this thing (and I was proud of the topic heading by the way) I firmly believe that it is the PCM.

I appreciate the thought of setting it afire but since it is probably an environmental catastrophe waiting to happen without all the smoke and flames, I figure I'll not burn it to preserve the precious air that is left to be enjoyed by members that couldn't have been more than a year old when it was pushed off the production line by 4 or 5 very strong employees.

I replaced the evp solenoid and it did nothing, put on a new egr position sensor and it made the light stay on as a beacon of sorrow without flickering. The original egr position sensor reinstalled and it only comes on when warmed up. Checked the voltage and 5.0 on the evp. Return .1 fluctuating to 0. Vacuum tested the egr and it held as well as got an idle fluctuation. Traced all the electrical harness and did a KOEO polarity with a test light to the pos side of the battery and couldn't get it to light therefore ruling out a ground or break in the harness.

I have always hated the redundant properties of a F%$* and the usless back-up properties and this is a perfect example of telling myself so and getting to be both smug about saying I told you so, and irritated by hearing it.

GRUB! I got to the post too late..pleeeeeease PM me the original post. ( I can't check the edit after 12 hours) As a valued member of this form I will consider your input in private...without sugar coating

Grub's comment lived true to the no sugar coating rule.

In all seriousness, I hope that you can figure out the problem you are having and thank you for saving the air for everyone ...I wish I could be of more help towards this problem, but never worked on that style of Ford and it looks like you have gone through everything that I could possibly think of. Are you planning on using this truck to tow your camper?

I plan on treating it like the ugly step child. It's going to do everything that might cause undue and/or unnecessary stress to the RAM.
