If your truck is listed under the recall Chrysler will replace the axle. Check with a dealer. As for your question, 4th rear axles (9.25) are all the same, just make sure you get the correct gear ratio and check to see if it has a limited slip or not.

5 year 100000 mile warranty should take care of this.

the Ram rear differentials in the 2011 - 2014 Model Year were made by ZF

the rear differentials made earlier were made by AAM

I just noticed where Axehandle lives, that could be a major issue

It may be best to buy that whole rear end assembled & swap it out, that is if the measurements are close to the same
If the drive shaft Yoke needs to be changed, that is fairly easy to do

Good luck and please keep us updated....I would like to think that the dealer would look after this for you due to a recall....Not everyone received the recall notice.......I would call them first and feel them out.....

Question

I just got my second recall notice for this, apparently they now have the parts. I'm a bit apprehensive as I've had no problems, even dropped my drive shaft and had a look and put some lock tight on the exposed threads. I have also replaced the diff fluid with Amsoil synthetic gear oil. If they make things worse I will be extremely pissed. Really not sure what to do at this point. axehandle, any warning or fluid leaks before this happened to your RAM and what is your mileage?
