Default Kenwood DDX470 installed

I finally replaced the factory radio with an aftermarket unit that had all the features I wanted, Bluetooth, touchscreen, USB input, camera input. I went with a camera integrated into the tailgate handle. Love the functionality of the system, but I need to spend more time figuring out how to use all the features. Fit and Finish are great IMO. The Sat radio uses the factory antenna, so no new holes in the roof. Only issue I have is the camera is offset, so the picture isnt actually centered from the back of the truck.

Looks sharp. I really like the ram background!
I'm currently looking at the ddx770. Futureshop has it on sale for $400. Same price as 470.

I don't have to deal with steering wheel controls, so I don't need the PAC harness, but what else is needed?

I am thinking double din adapter,
Sirius tuner,

Is there a trim needed for outer face?

What camera did you run to tailgate?

Easy to remove factory head unit?

Any help is appreciated.

Check best buy!! The 470s are on sale for 359!!

I can answer a couple ???s

The oem unit is very easy to remove, two screws under the dodge rubber tray. Then just pry around the edges. It all snaps into place. Disconnect your wires from your a/c controls ect and they remove the oem deck. Itll take a 7mm socket.

You will need a metra kit, i forget the part nimber but ill post it later when i find it.

You will need to do alot of trimming inside the dash. I used a dremel with a cutoff wheel. When you put the deck up there youll see. But its no biggie since the bezel will cover everything back up!!

I found the metra kit in two configurations. One comes with a bus interface other doesn't. Do I need the interface? One is about $10, other is $80.

Picked up the ddx470 at futureshop, they matched bestbuy price of $319, plus 10% off the difference. They actually rang it in for $310! The Sirius tuner was on sale at 2001 audio for $59.99, futureshop beat and it was $52.99!
Just need to get a camera off eBay, metra kit, and wiring quick harness. Hope the wife likes her Christmas present! Wink, wink.

Did you find part numbers? More interested in what part the wiring harness is.
