I've got this camera, and I've had pretty good luck with it.

It was cheap, it was easy to install, and I've had zero issues after almost 6 months. I don't know if you want to go the license plate mount or not.

There are many options out there, and you don't need to spend a fortune on the camera itself.

If you do a search, I'm sure that you'll find lots of threads on this topic.

good luck

How/where did you route the cable into the interior of the cab?

Where does the red AV wire connect to? Is that a ground or audio?

Also, how did you/where did you route the wire in the bed? Under the liner?

I got a flush mount camera from amazon that worked great until u got the OEM one. I routed the camera through the tailgate adding a disconnect point their, then throughout the factory hole to the left of center on the back of the box then followed the factory harness till it goes up the drivers fender then i went through the harness port on the drives firewall. took about 20-30 minutes to route the wire but i like clean installs. in the end i went with the OEM camera and i like it. you could go to a salvage yard and see if they have a truck with a camera, get that one and pin out the connection to an RCA connector for the alpine radio.

Default Thx

I was looking at the tailgate handle with the whole in it, I was thinking about replacing that and mounting a very small camera (20 dollars on amazon, good reviews too) into the hole and running the wires from there. Would that work or...?

Heres the camera:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...A2KV19AYUKS3X0
Fit in the handle or go oem?
And if I did, where would I get the pin to RCA cable/adapter?

I installed the Peak Back Up camera (purchased from Pep Boys) and used a RAM rear view mirror stalk-mount. This is a wireless/Bluetooth camera. It mounts on/above the rear license plate. The camera gets it's power from the backup lights and transmits wirelessly to the LED monitor I mounted above my rear view mirror and wired into the overhead reading lights power. This way, the camera automatically receives power when selecting reverse, and the monitor automatically wakes up (even if previously switched off manually) when the remote door locks awaken the interior dome lights. I'm very satisfied, found it easy to install and costs about $110. The RAM mount added another $40 but makes for a very clean, convenient, and out-of-the way installation.

ghorn, do you have a pic of that RAM rear view mirror stalk-mount, that sounds interesting.
