Do you need open top spacers so the valve has a place to fit in the top of the coil/spacer?

The kit comes with hard plastic spacers to protect the top of the bag

Yep, all you have to do is remember to put the spacer in place before you hook up the line .

For a lift kit, yes.

the air bags are easy to install. i have done a set of airlift 1000 and i have done the firestone ones. i put the firestone in my truck and i like them probably better. the firestone have push to connect airfitting on each back, the airlift has just a barbed fitting on the top of it. i have an oudoorsman also and the dealer told me i have updated suspension i belive all it is that they have a heavier duty shocks on the rear.

About to pull the trigger on air lift, and front leveling kit. I want to add a front 2.5 or 3 inch leveling kit. Will the airlift add enough to get me back level when I tow (around 6,000 lbs) , or do I need rear spacers also?

^ Good question. Mine gave a bit of extra height but if you want to get back to level with a fair load on the tongue you may still have a bit of sag.
This setup is SO easy to install and use, it;'s worth every penny.

The Airlifts aren't designed to lift the back end of the truck at all. You might see about half an inch of lift or so if you fully inflate them without any load. But I wouldn't count on it. Their design is to reduce sag by pushing outwards on the coils making it harder for them to compress.

To level the front of your truck you don't want to go higher than a 2.5" (or 2.8" with Bilsteins). 3" will start giving you problems with CV shaft and control arm angles.

^exactly what he said. You won't get lift out of the airlift kit, just less sag.

All 4th gen v8 ram 1500's have the transmission cooler and same suspension(obviously some differences between models/trims). But there is no "upgraded" suspension, and the tow package doesn't add trans cooler(since it's included in the base models). I think tow package now only includes the hitch and the electronic brake controller. Even the wiring for the trailer hookups is included in the base models now.
