Default how to build my own 2014?

i've been looking for a 2014 1500 for a few weeks now, but am sick of trying to find one with everything i want on the local dealer lots. how do i go about building my own? do i build it on the ram trucks website and order it through them, or do i need to do it at a dealership? once it's done how long does it usually take until i take delivery?

You have to go to your local dealer and have them place it as a "sold" order. Probably looking at 8-10 weeks. I'm going into week 5 and it's suppose to SHUP next week. I've seen as short as 4 weeks on here to as many as 12. Depends a lot on model, options, add-ons, etc.

It really depends on the dealer. When I ordered mine they basically came back with a bottom line number with no haggling needed....they showed me what they owned the truck for compared to what I was paying, they were basically making $500.00 on the truck. I wouldn't think it matters whether you order or not on how negotiable they are going to be with price. My salesman did tell me that sometimes there are incentives that are not available for ordered vehicles, but that was it.

I think if you negotitiate on existing stock you can get an idea of the dealer pricing than subtract or add for options. I was fortunate that we tried to make a deal on dealer ordered trucks but options that I wanted were not available. I also knew from car cost Canada the margin on the vehicle so it made it easier to negotitiate.

Build it online, print your build with the additions and take it into your dealership.

Your dealership will do a national search. If it yields nothing, you can place an order with the exact factory installed accessories you want.

I've done this twice in the past.

Truck was sold today [5/19]. I got an offer I couldn't turn down. I had no more need for a pickup so I cut it loose. About to purchase a '14 Jeep SRT8 this week.

Grub out!

Build your own? First you need about 2000 pounds of steel and a couple gallons of paint. Do you know how to form fenders with an English wheel?
