Default Temp gauge pegged but engine is cool and no heat from HVAC

I recently picked up a 1993 D250 with 348K. The truck had one owner and was very well maintained. Paint is going but otherwise in very good shape.

Today I took it out and while I was driving about 70 on the highway I glanced down to see the temp gauge pegged on H. I got off and checked under the hood. Engine was barley warm. Top and bottom radiator hoses were warm and fan was running. (Radiator fluid in the overflow at correct level)

I also noticed the cabin heater wasn't giving any heat.

Later at a harder stop the oil pressure light came on and the gauge dropped to zero with no effect on the engine idle etc. checked the oil and it is at the upper end of the "safe" zone.

What is the first thing you would suggest to fix the gauges (speed and volts seem to work fine)

Could the lack of cabin heat be related or is this a separate problem that cropped up at the same time?

Couple of things, first, welcome to the forum. Make sure you stop by the Newbie section and introduce yourself. Second, no heat coming out of the heater means that either the heater core is plugged or you have low coolant and it's not flowing properly. As for the gauges, I would first look at the instrument cluster starting to go bad. Keep us updated and let us know if you need anything else.
