Chris Cadotto. 18-71 roots blown Hemi on alky. A Coyote would need a bit more than 1500hp to run with that truck, considering Chris is making in the neighborhood of 2800hp.

And second, what would you possibly need 800hp on the street for in the first place besides to get yourself killed? Look what happened to PAUL Walker and his pal Roger Rodas, both experienced drivers, especially Rodas who apparently was driving the car. And of all things it was a Porsche that lost control and burst into flames. I could understand if it was a Camaro or Mustang or Challenger....but a Porsche I can't. They must have been going pretty fast. It seems very unprofessional for the driver to put someones life at risk like that. I think you're good enough like you are.
Seriously 9 second street cars are becoming more and more common with ac and all the factory amenities....it used to be something to have a 10sec street car but with new car technology 10's are breeze at least with this coyote motor. NHRA changed their rules this year on cage requirements because the know their are stock car's out there that run 10s from the factory.

I won't put a cage in this car yet either and I know it's a safety item but I've gone out my way with upgrading my suspension/street up to be able to put the power down. I also run with DR at all times and actually dead hook from a 40 roll, so I don't think 700rwhp isn't that crazy for a street car. Believe it or not I've grown tired of that power level hence why I order a built short block but I guess to each their own.

When you get time look it up you'll see tons of blower only 5.0s out there running 10s (9sec coyotes are popping left and right too), pretty impressive considering in the muscle car class camaro's and challenger's need heads and cams/ bigger displacement coupled with Boost/Nitrous.

I've always been a car enthusiast and not brand loyalist so I know what you mean about respecting different makes and models. As far as the 6 and 7 sec 1/4 mile cars, I'm sure there a blast but I like driving a bit longer than that lol. They are far from a streetable car to be a daily and that's the whole goal of for the mustang right now.......Anyway I fell like I'm stealing the OP thread but I'll PM you from time to time to update you on the progress, I'm headed back to the track next Friday....should be able to get that 9sec slip.

Yeah thats comparing apples to oranges....that's a big block (8.6L) race engine vs. 5.0L coyote modern engine.

Here's apples to apples.....

Worlds fastest modern Hemi with a 426 (7.0L) running a 8.08 @173

Worlds fastest 5th Gen Camaro, don't know the engine specs but I'm sure the LS3 has a stroker kit so I would say 7.0L as well.

Worlds fastest GT 5.0L coyote

You can see why I went with the mustang with the coyote motor.....enough said

Yes, I'm aware Cadotto's truck is a race truck (now, that is...before he switched to alky, he was going very low 8s, high 7s carbureted on gas and it was street driven). I mentioned his name only to make those people aware who don't know who's truck it is.

You also didn't differentiate between race trucks or street trucks. You said ANY 3rd or 4th gen Ram. Granted, Cadotto's truck is a 2nd gen, but nevertheless, 1500hp isn't going to cut it against his ride (again, since you didn't make mention of street type Coyotes). Be careful using the term ANY, though. There are a number of 3rd gen turbo diesel Rams running single digit ETs. At any rate, good luck with your Coyote build, they're fun cars.

OP, sorry for the thread hijack!
