Default 2007 Ram wont let me turn the ignition on..

Hey guys.....had this prob tonight got in my truck tonight and put the key in the ignition and went turn it over and it wouldnt let me...anyone else had this problem?

I played around with it for about 5 min then it finally let me turn the key over but not im thinking its gonna start doing it more until the ignition goes out...

any advice would be great thanks.

also im not sure if i just need a new key or eventually a new ignition

Could be a couple of things. You may have locked the steering wheel with the wheels turned and the locking pawl could have been stuck. Or, it could be that the cylinder is going bad. The are not that hard to change out and not too expensive either.
