Default Gen2 1500 Brakes

So I did a search and didn't find a post for this so....
I do a lot of towing (my boat) and find the brakes in my 1500 to be sub-par. My solution is simple, inexpensive, and quite effective.

Im going with 2500 calipers and pads, 3500 wheel cylinders and master cylinder.

Everything is direct fit bolt on, but with greater stopping power. The HD 2500 calipers/pads are rated for 8800#, and the 3500 wheel cylinders are 3mm larger, and the master cyl is a larger bore.

Ive read in other places that this mod works awesome for towing, and especially well for trucks sporting big tire/rim combos

Sounds like a good idea. Have you done the swap out yet? How'd it turn out?

i went with powerstop brake kit from autoanything. comes with drilled and slotted rotors and suppose to be 30% more braking power plus they have a kit for trucks that tow alot

I have used powerstop brakes before. they cut the 60 to 0 distance 30 ft on my 97 f150. Let m know how the 2500/3500 swap goes. It sounds like a great mod.

I too ordered powerstop rotor&performance pads for my 1500 off rock auto. I've so far due to shoty rotors cracking lost a caliper and one set didn't last 2k before the back side of the rotor cracked and on both sets it's been the opposite sides. So I'm hoping the power stops are all the rage I've read they are.
