Default Waxing your new truck - How soon

So in the old days you waited at least 30 days before waxing a new paint job.. Is that the case these days? I ordered a new truck so paint should be pretty fresh..

I wax mine the first chance I get, whenever I buy a new truck. I haven't ever ordered one, I usually find one on a lot myself though. I like to get a good coat of wax on as early as possible. I doubt waiting 30 days is necessary. If that was the case, you would need to wait 30 days to drive it, so no bugs would be hitting it, etc.

I think the 30 days was less about the durability and more about letting the proper solvents evaporate before locking them under wax... But my paint jobs weren't "baked" either back then so maybe that is a difference...

It depends on how new the truck is. If you receive the truck soon after it was manufactured, probably should wait, but if it had been on the dealers lot for a time, waxing it right away would not be an issue.

I wax the first chance I get. First coat will be a sealer then a good wax to finish. Other than the obvious protection factor, It gives me a chance to get close over all the truck and look for paint flaws ext..
