Thought I would share my thoughts on two products I just purchased from Chemical Guys. The first is this leather care kit http://www.chemicalguys.com/Chemical...spi_109_16.htm
I was out of my previous leather conditioner so I thought I would try Chemical Guys. I tried it on my dogs leather leash as it has been used twice a day for 3.5 years and has never been cleaned or conditioned. So you can imagine the leash was very dry (especially being used in the desert), and the original darkish green had become black and grimy. While I was not expecting a miracle, I was interested to see how effective this product is at restoring the leather. I have to say I am impressed. Most of the green color has returned and the leather is quite supple, the way it was when purchased and looks pretty darn good. I wish I could share photos but in order to do the product justice and for you all to appreciate it, you would have had to see the original, the before treating and then the result. The cleaner is a clear liquid that comes in a spray bottle and is wiped on with a micro fiber cloth and massaged. I repeated the cleaning 3x and it really removed the grit and grime accumulated over 3.5 years of heavy use. The next and final step is to apply the conditioner with a micro fiber cloth and buff. Bottom line for me is the stuff works well and will not hesitate to use in my truck and in fact since I have cared for my truck and kept up with the cleaning and protecting, I am positive the Chemical Guys leather care kit will prove to be superb.
The second product is the Chemical Guys ACC-303 Jet Speed Air Blower
I recall from one of Primo Spaghetti's posts he suggested using a leaf blower to assist in drying the truck after a wash. While I have some good tools and a good system in place to quickly and efficiently dry my vehicles, I wanted something to blow water out of the mirrors, around the doors and other crevices that never seem to drip until you have completely dried a surface. Since my leaf blower could not blow a dandelion apart and I rarely used it for it's intended purpose, it found it's way into a yard sale. I saw this neat little gadget on the Chemical Guys website, the price was quite reasonable and appeared to be exactly what I was looking for. It has 6-speeds, very light and easy to handle including lifting above your head, to reach tall spots and it does a good job of blowing water from the crevices. This makes me a happy camper and I recommend this machine as an inexpensive blower for the weekend detailer/enthusiast. For those who dream of blowing drying an entire vehicle completely dry, or detail for a living this unit will disappoint you, as it just does not have the oomph for that kind of use. Otherwise, this machine is a worthy addition to a detailers kit.
