well that wasnt it...lol...D.A.??? really? why would you call me that?

it was the icm. aperently when i put the new battery in and mistook the pos for the neg posts it fried somethin in the icm and ate a fuseable link....fixed the fuseable link and put the old icm on after it warmed up and bang it started. i repeated shutting it off and starting it in increasing time intervals and it works just fine. the only problem is i replaced the icm to begin with bc it wouldnt fire up when the ambient temp was cooler than 50 degrees f. so ill just have to switch them back and forth to get it warmed up and be able to restart it warm.

And just to clarify, i understand how to disassemble pretty much every part of my truck including the distributor. i was simply asking if there was a way to fix the reluctor without having to buy a new one. but thank you for your insight and advice anyways.

Sincerely,

Aaron

D.A.= Double "A" Aaron.( I call DoubleOram Oh oh.)

for posting the solution. I'm glad you figured it out.

It was indicative of a bad air gap in the reluctor so there was really no way to fix it with the old one.
