Default Any body believe this stuff? Look at this

http://autochipsdirect.com/Dodge%20P...Feg-MgodURwAlA

This thing says it helps you get, +40 HP, 8 mpg.
I mean for $50 and 100% refund guarantee money back I think would be kinda worth looking into.

What do y'all think?

So you mean, the $1500+ I sunk into the performance of my truck for a high flow exhaust, SuperChips Flashpaq tuner, Cold Air Intake, Oil Catch can, etc. to squeeze out maybe another 3 or 4 MPH and 60 HP was a hoax?

Oh wait... No, it's those damn chips that are a hoax. Don't waist you money, kid. But don't take my word for it. Do some research and, hell, buy it and see what happens. See if you're truck doesn't throw a code. See if you really get 40 HP and 8 MPG for $50 bucks. And when you're disappointed and kicking yourself in the ass for falling for that crap, try getting your money back. Just remember, you asked.

These things have been around for years. I am sure on the first gen OBD1 style computers they may have had an effect, but not on todays modern computers. They try and fool the computer by changing the air density reading either by shunting the IAT sensor or putting resistance in the MAF (sensor by vehicle type). Basicaly causes a lean enviroment. Yes running a bit lean can open up some power, but also causes alot of heat and will do alot of damage. Also the newer vehicle no longer rely soley on IAT/MAF for density calculations so the chances of it working at all are slim to none. People seem to love them some placeebo though!!!!!!

In the world of horsepower always remember you get what you pay for. People spend thousands of dollars to chase 40 extra horse's so there's no way a resistor is going to do that.

MY best friend which just bought a 2012 dodge sent me this link in an email, then when I went over to his house later that day I posted this, He starting getting excited on how many horses you get and stuff.

Long story short I told him that this chip deal probably has a some sort of bug worked into it that makes your computer code up like crazy and or completely destroys it or makes up a virus or something. He's always looking for the most horses for the cheapest price and this little plug in device doesn't do the trick. Kind of crushed his thoughts but with others inputs like y'all I hope he see what the real answers are.

So thanks.

I was hoping you'd tried it and let us know I personally never had luck with these cheap 'power chips'.

Manufacturers are spending millions on trying to squeeze out another MPG and a few more horses. So, don'tcha think that if these "chips" really worked that the engineers would be all over them?
