im thinking i used to be ALOT lower than 2,000 rpm @70 mph. i called the dealer and asked about what was done and told them what im exspiriencing and they said to bring it in and they would look at it. but that just kinda scares me , that means something else will be wrong when i get it back. this started because i took it in to warranty my carpet , they did like 3 or 4 computer upgrades and something about a molding repair. i got it back with new carpet but now my mpg is in the toilet. thats kinda what i hate about my dealer , thier service department is not the swiftest bunch.

I have the 5.7 with the 3.55 and at 70 the rpm are at about 1800. I have never gotten anything over 15.8 mpg out of mine. I'd be tickled to death with 20mpg.

I don't always get this mpg since I do a lot more city driving than highway. But you guys should be getting more than 15 mpg on the highway. Ofcourse, the faster you do go, the less mpg you get.

i am wondering if possibly the cold weather could be playing a roll in my milage drop , ive done my usual drive in 90 degrees and 70 degrees , but this was the first time below freezing and the milage dropped bad. dont see it playing that big of a factor b ut i dont know. any thoughts on that ?

I like to drive fast too but the troopers here are ruthless. They won't give anyone a break. That 23 mpg was on cruise control on a flat road. Remember guys that I'm in Miami so the biggest elevation we have is the trash mountain at the trash dump. In the city I get about 13 to 15 mpg.

Winter blended fuels are notorious for not getting as good economy as the summer blends. If you warm up the truck before you take off, that will take some away from your mileage as well. Then consider the temperature itself. Colder air is more dense which means more air will be going into the engine. When you have more air going in, you have to add more fuel to achieve the correct air-fuel ratio.

Driving from NC to NY i saw 20 MPG every once in a wile but i was averaging 18 or so. however that dropped from the 24 i saw once. my MPG actually dropped with my K&N drop in filter. before i would get like 15-17 city and like 22 hwy but now im getting 12-13 city and 18 hwy.
