Default Exhaust Drone

Have looked through this section about exhaust drone but did not see where anyone has tried putting weights on the exhaust pipe before and after the muffler. Read this in ehow: Clamp weights to the exhaust pipes. Exhaust drone can be damped by increasing the density of the material through which the vibration must travel. Clamp solid steel or lead to the exhaust pipe both before and after the muffler. Use ring clamps to secure the weight to the exhaust pipes. If this would work sure would be a cheap fix.

I've seen guys have success on other cars w clamping a 3lb weight before and after the muffler. Haven't seen anyone try it on the Ram tho.

There is already a damper hung under the truck, not sure if it is for exhaust sound, as it is not connected to the exhaust system.

On my 14 Crew Cab is is under the driver side.

I may be wrong on what it is, I haven't researched it, just found it yesterday. The only thing in my mind is to damp vibration. Sound is vibration...

Or y'all tell me what else it is... LOL

It is a vibration dampener. Should be one on each side. But not for exhaust drone.
