Default shelf price vs. actual charge

How many times have we all bought something based on what the shelf sticker price said it would cost only to be disappointed ? We look at the big lettering, not the fine print that it takes a magnifying glass for some of us older folks to read ! The amount of money difference often does not matter at all compared to if we as consumers feel that a vendor has cheated us or misrepresented the store's advertised price. I expect every retailer to honor the shelf price and regardless of their error or lack of attention, I will buy at the shelf price. I fully understand that computers, bar codes and store updates are not the fault of store employees, they cannot control these functions. BUT, I do demand and get the advertised price....as just yesterday at "A......" Having been an executive at several large corporations myself over my career, when a store manager wants to argue with me over a dollar and a half mistake of his part, that says a lot to me about the long term viability and reputation of that store's brand name and also damages the brand name of the products they sell. It's time for retailers to wake up, and for manufacturers to enforce standards consistent with their brand reputations in order for both to survive long term.

That's one of the reasons I have a barcode reading app on my Samsung Note II. It makes it very easy to check prices.

X2. A manger that argues with a customer, over a pricing error, is a fool. Delta just sold some cross-country, round-trip, tix this week for $25. They honored their mistake. For a small, local retailer, maybe explaining the error to the customer can fix the issue. For a larger company, the consumer has no sympathy. For A*******, they sell Chinesium parts for market rates. Seldom do you even have the OPTION of buying a quality part. Their "Dura-Crap" line of parts are only suitable for flipper cars. Unless I am broken-down on the side of the road, I buy most of my parts on Amazon.

A $1.50 is not worth my time to argue with anyone, let alone a retail store manager. Move on and buy it some place different.
