Default servive fwd indicator?

I was heading out today, stopped at my neighbors talked for a bit and went to leave. It was pretty cold today, when backing up I spun my wheels a little bit, put it in drive and in two seconds the service fwd light came on and the coolant temp on the display went to it's (default setting) 100 degree and the gauge went to zero. I drove to town about 20 miles everything else was working. I've been in two wheel mode this whole time. I shut the truck down re-fired it and it's been normal. Anybody knows what happened, did I dirty a anti-lock brake sensor, traction control, not spin the wheels enough? And what is the relation between the temp sensor and fwd service light.

I have found out that the pcm on these trucks sometimes just need to be rebooted. And I mean shutting the truck off for a min or two and restarting. I just got out of my truck after finding out how to put the electric shifting transfer case into neutral. When I shifted back into 2wd the service 4wd light turned on. Its happened to me one other time after shifting out of 4low. I took it to the dealer right a way. But by time I got to the dealer and shut the truck off to talk to them, the pcm had reset and everything was normal. They thought I was . Now why the temp messed up with it is beyond me.
