I'll do one better than pictures...

for short course tires, use #16 Jack chain. 20ft is more than enough, under 20$.

22 links to form your circle, and then 11 sections of 5 links, connected to everyone other link on the 22 link circle. lay it over the tire, center it, and use three large zip ties/strips to tighten it down. two ties will have four chains on it, and your third one will have only three. slowly cinch em down evenly, adjusting as you go. stupid easy.

I'll put up pictures later when I'm not at work.

these are rusty tires, but it shows the general idea

I experimented with different size tires and types. I liked the short course size better. in this pic, the chains moved on my wider sand tires, but they still worked Well. I had 6 inches of snow, some hard pack, some light fluffy. blasts through it all. I suffer though because both my trucks have low center of gravity chassis setups. a standard 2wd/4wd slash would dominate with some good chains.

Here's a couple posed shots after running.

ended up using the factory slash bfg tires, perfect for this as the lugs hold the chains in place well

my favorite posed, pretty mean

We were out in the snow today. I was able to make a crawler drift. It was hilarious and made everyone shake there heads. My philosophy is more power.

haha sounds like a blast!

had a nice couple of 37 weather days, turned all our soft fluffy powder into hard packed fun. shoveled my winter track out back, built a couple jumps, and now there's a nice freezing rain coating it all. trucks are prepped and ready for a couple runs.

I've been looking into some upgrades recently. found chassis and rear end replacement setup for my 2wd, converts it to a solid rear axle. pretty sick setup.... AND there's a possible new RC coming soon to the household.... really wanting a Stampede 4x4. My Slash trucks are low for racing, I want something with some clearance

Thanks for posting those shots. I'm going to be doing this for sure. I just gotta get the chain.

I have a couple of old RadioShack 4x4 Trucks, one works almost flawlessly (Dodge), the other needs some new motors and possibly a transmission...(go figure its a Ford too, lol).. So where do I start looking for parts? I will post some pics up here in a few
