Default Stiff Power Steering?

When first starting my tuck when it is really cold the power steering is really stiff for just a few seconds. Has anyone else experienced this? Just wondering if this is normal or if I have a problem starting. I'm guessing it is just because of the extreme cold.
Thanks.

it was down to -22 last week and it did this to me once, it was like the steering was stuck and then a few seconds later no problem, was fine all day, has not done it again since. This week supposed to be -28 so will try it again and report back if it does it again.

Sounds like the same thing mine is doing. Only lasts a second or two, then is fine.

every dodge i have had i replaced the ps fluid with synthetic and no more problems. when it is cold the pressure build up from dino fluid must be tremendous and a lot of chrysler products get leaking hoses from that.

it only takes 10 min. suck your reservoir dry with a suction pump and add up to the line. do this again in a month and it will all be clean. you will notice the difference after the 1st time.

Maybe do this:

1) Start truck & check for PS stiffness.

2) If problem is detected, drive truck in a southerly direction until problem disappears.
