Default 2/4 Drop - Rear Air Bag Help

I'm about to pull the trigger on a drop kit. Going with the McGaughy 2/4 deluxe kit. Had one on my 03 for 9 years without a single issue.
I have read that some additional support may be needed in the rear to keep from bottoming out due to shorter springs, and some are using air bags for this.
Anyone using air bags inside the rear springs? If so, which brand and size? Details like part numbers would be greatly appreciated.

Check out Air Lift, they have a shortened kit for lowered trucks, I believe Moe's has them listed.

I believe the airlift kit that guys are using on the 3" and 4" lowered rear trucks is the durango kit. I don't have the part number off hand but contact them with how much of a drop you have and they will hook you up. It's the air lift 1000 kit.

The part most are using, as stated above, are the ones for the Durango. Air Lift 1000 # 60824. They are pretty cheap price wise (100 and under without a compressor) and install took all of 7 minutes max.

For those using these helper bags in the springs, does the bag raise the rear height at all when at minumum inflation (5psi)? I ask because I have used these on another vehicle in the past and the rear sat about 1/2" to 3/4" higher with the bags installed in the springs and left at 5psi (requiered minimum to protect bags). To most this probably doesnt sound like alot but to the die hard "perfect stance" guy, this is huge! thanx for the input and I hope the OP doesnt mind me highjacking as it may be of interest to them as well......

No, the air bag puts outward pressure on the coil, it does't actually lift the vehicle.

Thanx alot! Yeah I get how the bag expands horizontally and keeps spring tension vertically to keep the rear from dropping. Im guessing back in the day the bags werent as "tweaked" in terms of fitment as they are now. For some reason in my past experience the bags caused the rear to stay raised a little even at minimum pressure wich drove me nuts. It was fine at intial install and then after inflating the stance never returned to the previous height as if the bag kept tension on the springs not allowing them to fully relax. Looks like thats a worry of the past...a huge thanx for your input!!

For some reason I feel compelled to better explain my situation, not that it matters in this senario, lol!
I think 10 or so years ago, the bags were more of a universal fit as opposed to several bag widths as they have now for different manufacturers. I believe now that the bags I used were probably too wide of a bag for the spring setup I was using. I remember the bag needing to be slightly folded and manipulated into the inside of the spring, then after the weight of the vehicle was back on the springs, you added air pressure to the bag to have it take its shape, wich in my case, kept tension on the inside of the springs so the spring rate "so to say" was permanently changed unless removed. Either way.....no worries now......
