Okay, feeling pretty stupid here. I have windows 7 and WinZip. I've unzipped the file, however the auto install does nothing. Am I missing a step here?

When you unzip it, it should make a folder, in that folder go here

\Service manual 2009 Ram 1500\common\html

Then right Click on frontPage.htm and open with Internet Explorer

Check on the top of IE that your not being blocked, "yellow Error bar"

once the IE window opens, chose year, etc and it will open the menu's on the left.

Default Can't open with Windows 8 and IE11

I still can't get this to open with Windows 8 and Internet Explorer 11. I have tried everything I can possibly think of, including the instructions posted earlier about the debugger, but just can't get past the default page. I spoke to Tech Authority and they said the only thing I could do was get a new disk that addresses the problem. You have to have ordered through them, and they will send it out, or else buy another disk. Anybody ever have any luck getting this to open, or have a newer copy of the manual? D@^n Microsoft and their changes for the better. I think I'm beating a dead horse trying to get this one open.

Thumbs up My problem solved for Windows 8 and IE11

After days of trying everything I could possibly think of trying, I now have my manual working in Windows 8, well sort of Windows 8 anyway. What I did was install a virtual machine in my laptop that runs Windows XP with IE 8. I then put the manual in the virtual machine and can view it there. It has no affect on my Windows 8 when not running the virtual machine, and very little affect when running the virtual machine. It was really a simple solution, and took no time at all once I figured out the components needed. If anyone is interested in a writeup on the complete procedure, I can try to get one written up and distributed. The information is out on the web, there's just a few little quirks that took me a little while to figure out. The biggest of which is the fact that the files have to be in the virtual machine, not a shared folder from the host(Windows 8) in order for the manual to work. It's been a while since I have been on here, and I think I remember not being able to PM. I think you have to have people give you points or something, so if you would like to give them to me, and get me to the level of PM'ing, I could PM the instructions when I get them wrote-up. Other suggestions are welcome to.

Default Linux etc....

Also I will add that this will allow you to run it on other platforms as long as you are able to load the VM. Sorry iPads, I don't think this is possible for you yet.

Default So how are you getting it to work?

Downloaded and unzipped. Followed the included instructions and when I click the "Enter" on the default page all I get is like many others, simply a blank page. Done ALL the supposed fixes on this thread but no joy. Even purchased two off ebay and they are simply what is available for free on this thread, and they have the very same issues. \ If any of you who have gotten this service manual to run right on your computers, it would be a great service if you could convert it to PDF format and repost it for those of us who are pulling what's left of our hair out trying to get this to work. Thanks to anyone who would do that for us.

Default The same as you.

I am using IE 11 but I tried the others (IE 8,etc) as was recommended on another post. I really have tried every conceivable recommendation but to no avail. The folks I purchased the last DVD copy from said that it was probably the SVG Viewer causing the problem, but I've reduced my security levels, downloaded and installed a couple of different iterations of the SVG Viewer from Adobes website and still no luck. I know the manual is there as with the last DVD purchase, my computer actually saved every photo in the manual. But for the life of me I can't figure out how to open the script portion of that manual. Pictures are worthless without the script that goes with them.

Bummer, That was my only option for you. I use IE 8. Under the EXE folder there is a SVGview executable, have you tried installing it from there. I had issues installing from the main page but installing from there worked.
