Default Flowmaster side or rear exit?

I have stock exhaust and just bought a 3in single in 2 out flowmaster. Would you exit in front of rear tire or out back? I have 2wd magacab hemi want good sound but not too loud for kids and wife . Do you think it will help mileage? Getting 12 in town 17 hwy now everything is stock.

Thanks,

Mike

I had mine come out the front of the rear tire and love it. It's probably a little bit louder than it would be if it came out the back, but I can still carry on a conversation in a normal voice. The kiddos have no problems falling asleep either. My wife, on the other hand, her exact words were "You paid someone to make it sound like that?" Apparently, she doesn't appreciate a good rumble.

I have my exhaust exiting in front of both rear wheels. The flowmaster kit I had before my custom set up now also exited in front of the passenger side wheel.

With just doing a muffler swap you wont see any change in you mpg. Just a change in sound

Mine looks like this on both sides of the truck
