Great point snrusnak. I also considered small pickups as well but if both are near same price, and fuel economy numbers, it's a no brainer for me to go full size and have more room as well as a couple thousand pounds more towing capacity. That GMC is ayite looking. I understand brand signatures but come on man! Get rid of those square fender wells!

In my opinion the only reason to buy one of the new colorado's and canyons will be the size of it. If you want a truck but don't want or need the hugeness of a full size than this will be good for you. But i don't think one of these in a crew cab loaded up will be any cheaper than a full size. And I don't think the 3.6 V6 that GM is putting in them will do any better mpg wise than the pentastar in the ram does. I was thinking about waiting for these to come out but decided to get a V6 ram because for the price I would rather have the full size. But I do think its good that GM is getting back into it. Somebody needs to compete with Nissan and Toyota for the mid-size truck

And if Dodge seriously brought this player with the Pentastar and 8speed, obviously it would be a no brainer.

Grew up in GM family an all my relatives drive GMC trucks, and my dad did before. Those canyons were brutal on gas before and were way to small inside. The new ones look good, but I still don't see it being a threat for anything.. As it is a small truck.

The reason there was a comparison to the F-150 was because of the two very different truck strategies each manufacturer has taken moving forward. One is playing with tin cans the other is bringing another choice (well, choices) to the market.

I figured that was pretty obvious.

I would like to see something like this unibody in a regular cab and with a hemi (lol) but yes the Pentastar eight speed would still be awesome

they will do a tad better, that 3.6 is a great engine, direct injection. The mid sizes will be lighter too, so it will help. If they pair it up with the 8-9 speed they have in the works, it will be a great combo, given the price is right. Maybe 1-3 mpg, which in my books, it not enough to take my baby away
