Default Looking for some thoughts.

I have been looking into getting a programmer like a Diablo or a bully dog or a banks...but I have a feeling the previous owner might have done a tune on the truck. It shifts great only when i'm hammering it, last gear is at 120km/h,when easy on the gas the shifts are rough, my MPG sucks major Ba!!s.

I know I could take it in, but trying to avoid taking it to the dealer if dont need to.

I always hear others talking about the EGR delete, what exactly are the gains to that as well? I've only been in the diesel world for just over 2 months.

Thanks in advance

A friend of mine has an 05 and he has a Diablo Predator tuner and he raves about the power and mpg. I watched his truck put down 385 rwhp on a Mustang Dyno with just a tune. I don't know how much you can adjust the transmission in the diesel, but my dyno tuner can configure my hemi transmission a lot. He raised my shift points to 6250 for 1-2 and 2-3 shifts and managed to raise line pressure for incredible crisp shifts. Hemituner is one of the best Diablo tuner guys around, too.
