Default Help removing front cv axle

I'm still not able to get the wheel hub assembly to budge, even with the bolt trick mentioned in the prior thread, even with heating, I am knocking the crap out of it, nothing. I can see by looking behind that it has bad cancer.

At any rate I thought it would be nice to get the shaft out of my way. This is on the drivers side. I watched a youtube video where a guy took a pry bar and pushed the upper plunger back and then wiggled it a little and it came right off.

Off course no such luck here. The axle isn't frozen in the hub it will move in and out I have it all the way out. I pry back on the plunger until it comes to a hard stop and try wiggling it around and nothing it seems there's almost a 1/4" or so of spline left?? I've tried all wheel positions and have them striaght now and have rotated it and tried wiggling different directions.

I'm about ready to put the tire back on this damn thing and call the tow truck but I already have a $1000 repair bill coming on the other one.

Nothing is going as planned lol i'm beginning to think some of those vids are watch are trucks that have been torn down prior to the video and lubed up really good. This is getting ridiculous. If you have any advice on this topic please comment. Thanks!

I don't know if you have managed to get it off yet, or if it was answered in the other thread, but I'll post it up so if someone else has the same problem they can find the answer here too. The website that I purchased my wheel bearings from has installation videos and they were able to remove the cv axle without taking the upper ball joint loose. I was unable to duplicate that. Once I took the upper ball joint loose from the knuckle, I was able to remove the axle by placing a pry bar on both sides of the cv cup where it meets the differential extension and pop it loose. One side needed to be persuaded with a few LIGHT taps with a small hammer. Use caution not to punch a hole in the cup while tapping. Once I had the axle out, I reconnected the upper ball joint and beat the crap out of the bearing with a 20 pound sledge hammer and it popped right off. I spent 4 hours total to do both sides, from the time I jacked it up until rubber hit the floor. (and my truck is rusty all over and they have never been replaced or previously lubed!)

here is the video. It is from 1A Auto. They have several other videos as well. If you search their web page they have a page for searching their installation videos.
