I use Valvoline. Used it for years. I run Conventional, but after this rebuild I just completed I found the need for Synthetic or Synthetic Race oil. Excessive varnish due to heat. I change my oil religiously every 3000 miles and use only the Mopar Oil filter. Sadly conventional breaks down early in my engine.

Well I was using Mobil 1 and then the dealer stopped selling it. They switched me to Castrol Syntec and then they stopped selling that as well. I just went back yesterday for another oil change and believe it or not, they stopped selling Castrol now. Pennzoil Platinum is the only synthetic my dealer sells now. Since my truck only has 12,000Km's on it, im not willing to change it myself yet. Does anyone know how good or bad PP really is? I'm hoping its fairly decent since i'm a little stuck using it right now. No quick lube places for me thanks. The only one I trust is Mr.Lube here in Canada but their isn't one where I live.

Royal Purple 5-20 with a K&N filter. Change every 5K, and currently have just over 40K miles on the truck.

Redline synthetic in motor / rear diff and tranny.
Change motor oil every 6,000 km's,tranny gets an oil change every year, probably change diff fluid again at the 40,000 km mark

Generally when i get my first oil change i get the oil forced out with pressure and fill it up with royal purple. Not bad costs me about 8-9$ a quart at napa.

Where's Rotella?

I usually use Rotella (conevntional or synthetic, both are good), I have used Castrol, and will use Motorcraft oil, but I dislike valvoline. Had bad experience with it compared to the rotella.

i thought rotella was a diesel oil, but i might consider using it in an all cast iron engine.

Rotella is a diesel oil, but works just as well in gasoline engines. Some people say that diesel engine oils harm catalytic converters, but nowadays they don't because of modern diesel emissions equipment. I run rotella in everything, from pushmowers to tractors to our trucks and vans. Aluminum or cast iron blocks, never had any trouble.
