Default No floor heat

My 06' RAM doesn't blow heat onto the floor. When the heat is turned to floor it only barely blows hot air out the floor vents with the majority coming going to defrost. What is the problem and what do I have to do to fix it?

There's a door inside your HVAC system that directs the blown air to the desired position. Sounds like that door has become stuck. You'll need to get up under the dash and remove the fan, then possibly replace the door or the motor. Could be that the controller is acting up as well.

Its the mode 2 door. It broke and when they break, they fall and block the vents in the floor. It is the biggest PITA to replace and it will cost some money to have someone to do it. If you want to verify it, it's pretty easy to take dash out. Comes out and 5 pieces, would recommend a cordless drill. The mode 2 door is located behind the metal plate in the center of console floor above trans tunnel. If you can get the motor off, there is a gear and spin it. You can tell if the door is there or if the stops are in place. A company called Heater Treater makes aftermarket doors an also have videos. I would check them out, and watch there videos to help get a idea of what the location, and work involed in doing the replacement.

Most excellent post, ShakieHead! Thanks, and reps, for the input.
