If your dealership is a larger one
they will have 2 sales departments
Showroom sales & the Fleet/Internet sales

Fleet/Internet sales also sell to you & i
you call them or go online,
tell them what you want, with all the wants & needs
they start looking at their dealership & others within a given distance, not just your State
when they find something similar to what you want, they let you know about it & you make a choice, yeah or nay

the best part is, you always get the lowest No Haggle price & still receive the incentives that are in effect

I got 20.4% off sticker. I could have gotten an additional discount through a family member's employer but it would involve them being a co-owner.

Just traded my 2011 Ram 1500 for a 2014 Ram 3500 Cummins! I got 18.5% off the sticker plus a great trade in price. Salesman said they're not making anything in the 3500! I slept just fine after he told me that!

I bit 26% off the sticker on the 1500 but the incentives were better. Overall I'm very happy with the deal!

I hope my truck shows up soon!

I got $8250 off the sticker and $11,000 on my 03 trade in. Not bad $19250 off of a $47,000 truck

Dennis Dillon Dodge in Idaho has trucks at around 25% off all the time and more sometimes, all prices are advertised and guaranteed lowest in the United States. You give them a call and they are very nice and will help you whether you buy from them or your local dealer.

It hasn't been easy to figure out dealer cost though.
So, How do I break it down to where I can get the absolute best deal and
just go by dealer to pick up the truck?
Using Edmunds.com and other sites will let you build your truck with the options you want and compare MSRP to Invoice. Chances are the truck you find on the lot will be slightly different than the one you build on the internet, so it may vary a little.

Most dealers I've dealt with will happily show you their invoice. Some even have their hold back amounts on the screen (or printouts). Even if the dealer sells at invoice, he makes money from holdback.

For Ram trucks, hold back = MSRP - Destination = Adjusted MSRP x 3%

On a $50,000 truck, hold back is around $1465.

Additionally dealers get a "kick back" for quantity sales. You won't find this information very easily, as I understand each dealer is in different tiers for their sales volumes. This is money the manufacturer gives to the dealer for selling X quantity.

So theoretically, even if you bought for invoice, got $1,465 hold back and ALL manufacturers cash/rebates, the dealer could still make money on their sales volume kick back.

Many times dealers are willing to actually lose money on a sale if they think they can realistically hit the "next tier" of quantity kickback money. This is why many dealers are more aggressive towards the end of the month, when their sales cycles ends.

Generally speaking, if you didn't walk out and/or the salesman and his manager aren't sweating bullets -- you left too much money on the table.
