Thanks for sharing. I suspected that might be the case since they now own 100%. No big deal in my book.

Unless I misread something, Fiat SpA is now Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, NV. Fiat still is a subsidiary as well as Chrysler.

The group parent changed names (and headquarters), not the "two houses" as Mr. Marchionne likes to call them.

Kinda pisses me off to read "the new company will have its HQ in England for tax purposes" so if I understand right the italians buy out an american company that does most of its business in north america and to get around paying taxes here and in italy they move the bookeeping to england. if i was buying new right now that one line woulda sent me straight over to ford

Don't blame the Italians, our government needs a giant dope slap for driving business overseas with our predatory tax structure. Picture swimming in a swamp full of alligators.

Can't blame them for the taxes. I would do the same. We made this bed.

The Netherlands is the new world headquarters for FCA for tax purposes. I am far from a financial expert but watching the various interviews on Detroit TV with county executives, nothing is changing. If anyone has a legitimate bitch, it would be the Italians.

Got to remember, Fiat has been in charge of Chrysler for the past five plus years and during this time, they have brought manufacturing back to the states and North America.

FYI-

Had an interesting encounter at my local Advance Auto on Saturday. Was showing my new truck to the store manager, as was beginning to spend lots on my 99 ram-before trading to a 2014.

He told me the Dodge Ram's are no longer listed as Dodge, but only by Ram. Said this had just recently changed.

Probably somehow connected to the FIAT sale.

The split officially happened back in 2011 (Data nightmare!). It was planned prior to Fiat (under Cerberus if I remember correctly). It's taken awhile to filter down to third parties.
