Default Skyjacker Soft Ride Lift Coil? -replacement

I've been looking to replace my shocks due to my rough ride on my lifted 2001 1500 4x4. I spoke to someone I was about to buy shocks from, and he raised a concern that even if I buy the best shocks, I may not be happy because the issue is probably the coils. He compared it to putting a bandaid on a gunshot wound.

So, I'd like to try replacing my coils first.

I have a 5" rough country lift now. Skyjacker makes a "5" Soft Ride Coil".
I can't find any specs on why it is a "soft ride" other than in the name.

Does anyone have any experience with their coils? It comes on some of their lift kits. How does it ride?

Right now my ride is so stiff, I feel every pebble and am destroying my suspension.

Thanks

Skyjacker is very reputable company and have been in the game for many years. They are actually local to me, so a bunch of guys always ran those lifts around here. I personally never had a lifted truck, but many friends did and they never complained about them at all and always said they were great quality. Not sure on the specifics of your application, but you cant go wrong with that company.

Hi! Just got a set of Skyjacker softride springs for my truck. They are at the shop getting powdercoated red. The concept behind the softride is that it is a "progressive" spring. As opposed to a "constant spring". This is an exaggeration, but follow along. In a constant spring, 100lbs compresses it 1", 200 lbs-2", etc. In a progressive spring the rate is variable. So as the the first few inches of compression are easier than the following inches of compression. This would give a much better street ride for the 90% of the driving I do. I'll be doing a detailed installation of these when they get back from the powdercoat.
