Have you had it checked for an oil leak lately? Usually the service folks will poor a dye in to the oil that will illuminate under a black light. Could be that. Could be antifreeze got splashed while filling the radiator. Could be there was an alien under the hood, and when you started the truck it scared the shit out of it and it left a skid mark on your oil filler tube.

more than likely its condensation getting into there.
I had the same problem in my 2002 ram 1500 4.7L sport I had to replace the oil baffle (the part that is right inside were you fill up your oil) because it was falling apart. after I replaced it I haven't got the sludge in there since. I had to go to the dealership to get the part though. it was less than 3 dollars. and it wasn't anything that messed my truck up, it had been like that for a couple months before I got it replaced.

Have ever mixed oils - synethtic and standard? Accidentally maybe? Or you were running one kind and then changed (even prior owner or if done at a shop)? It produces an off discoloration, and (in my own opinion - I am NOT a licensed mechanic) your best bet is to clean it off, use some sea foam motor treatment (poured right into where the oil goes), drive it no more than 100 miles - at least 25 of which should be 45+ mph on the highway - and then change the oil and filter. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
